Boat Rides During Advent
What makes Lake Wolfgangsee so unique? It’s the three villages on the shores of the lake, which are connected by the Wolfgangsee boat service and the Schafberg Cog Railway – Austria’s steepest cog railway.
As the largest inland lake fleet in Austria, the Wolfgangsee boat service is the perfect means of transport for spontaneous hop on/hop off stops. Calling at the villages of Strobl, St. Wolfgang and St. Gilgen as well as numerous additional beautiful spots on the lake, you can visit the Advent Markets around the lake in a stress-free and romantic way.
Wherever the boat takes you, the 16-metre-high Light of Peace lanterns is always in view. Floating in front of the village of St. Wolfgang, it conjures up a brilliant play of lights on the gentle waves of the lake.
