WolfgangseeSchifffahrt ferries set course for Advent
A boat trip across the wintry Wolfgangsee lake is probably the most beautiful way to immerse yourself in Advent. WolfgangseeSchifffahrt takes visitors by water to the idyllic Advent markets in St. Gilgen, Strobl and St. Wolfgang. Surrounded by the unique backdrop of a thousand lights, you can experience the magic of Advent here.
The WolfgangseeSchifffahrt ferry service operates from 20th November to 20th December 2026 (Wednesday to Sunday) and on 7th and 8th December. From 26th December 2026 to 6th January 2027, the ferries run daily between the three towns of St. Gilgen, Strobl and St. Wolfgang.
In order to ensure optimal operations, only one landing stage will be served in the Advent locations of St. Gilgen, Strobl, and St. Wolfgang!
In St. Wolfgang, the landing stage at St. Wolfgang SchafbergBahn will be used for logistical reasons.
Advent Magic for the Whole Family
Every Advent Sunday, children up to 14 years old ride free of charge on the Wolfgangsee Advent Cruise when accompanied by an adult.
TIP: 3-in-1 Ticket
With just one ticket, you can travel by water to all three festive Advent markets around Lake Wolfgang. The “3-in-1 Ticket” allows single boarding and disembarking at all three landing stage — St. Gilgen, Strobl, and St. Wolfgang — and combines the festive glow of lights with what is probably the most beautiful journey across the winter lake

LANTERN CRUISE ON LAKE WOLFGANGSEE
Charming music, poems and stories about the Christmas
season aboard the WolfgangseeSchifffahrt ferries!
Even from a distance, the big Peace Light Lantern is utterly enchanting, a shimmering play of light bobbing on the gentle ripples of the lake. This 16 m high lantern is the unique symbol of Wolfgangsee Advent.
The lantern cruises take place every Wednesday from 26 November to 17 December 2025.
