Romantic Advent in the village of St. Wolfgang

Awaiting the Christkind – The Christchild, Austria’s alternative to Father Christmas. The four-metre-high angels form the entrance to the romantic village centre with its Christmas trees, candles and metre-high torches. Coming from across the lake, you can marvel at the giant floating Light of Peace lantern.

Come and join us in our wait for the arrival of the Christchild with joyful anticipation and a fascination for vivid customs.

The unique Salzkammergut Nativity scene with more than 70 life-size figures scattered around the village is something no visitor should miss.

Musicians playing calm and soothing Advent melodies wonder through the market daily from 5.00 p.m.

Romantic: Boat tours with our lantern boats every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

As dusk sets in.

On Wednesdays from 4 p.m., when it gets dark in the village, the electric lights go out for a few hours and the entire village shines in candlelight.
