IN THE FORMER COURTHOUSE (Mozarthaus) of St. Gilgen, built in the years 1719-20, you can find an exhibition dedicated to Maria Anna Mozart – called “Nannerl”. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s mother was born in this house on December 25th, 1720, and Mozart’s sister “Nannerl” lived in today’s Mozart House from 1784 to 1801.
Discover the International Musical Instrument Museum in the House of Culture. Incredible, powerful and bizarre Instruments are on display here, ranging from a Thai organ to a royal rattle from Cameroon.
